Love your web site! When can we expect some new puppy photos. It makes my day to see some new little setters. Our setter we purchased from you two years ago has truly been a joy to have in our family.  Keep up the good work!  Erik F.

Naps Check cording First scent of Quail Ho Ho Ho

Just thought I would try my hand at surfing English Setter Web Sites to see if you happened to have one...and viola...there you are...If you remember me, Gary W., I was the guy who ordered a setter from you from Saudi Arabia...not sure you have many of those, so I assume you remember me...Hard to believe, but that was over 5 years ago...and Sadie is doing fine...last year was cut short for hunting...against better sense, I decided that I couldn't wait any longer to quail hunt because  of a warm fall, and on the 6th of Dec, yes 6 Dec, took Sadie out...we hadn't been out 10 minutes and she got hit by a rattlesnake...made it to a vet in about 25 minutes, antivenin shot, and three tough days, but she made it just fine.  Have hunted her hard the past 5 days and she is wonderful...hard hunter, great nose, works well, and all her mistakes are because of me...I don't have a digital camera picture of her, but will get one and send to you, think you would like her looks, and let you compare to her dad and mom.  Have not bred her yet, but think this spring will be the time...she is too good a dog not to have some offspring...She is a wonderful dog and is my loyal companion, and a member of the family...and she is basically bored...unless she is out hunting...Glad to have made contact with you...looks like you are doing well...Happy New Year!

Kerry,
Here are a few pictures my wife took of Sadie pointing a quail wing in our front yard last Saturday August 2, 2003. She is growing like a weed. Saturday night I took her up to ............Sadie was the life of the party. Everytime I look at her walking through the house or out back romping with the boys I can't help but be amazed at how happy I am that she is here.  Anyway I will try to attach a few pictures. R.S.  Texas

I am sure that you don't remember me, (Leon O.) I went out to your place a year and a half ago to pick up an English setter pup.  Her name was Sparky.  She has brought so much joy into my life.  Very smart little girl and very obedient, She makes me proud every time I take her out.  When at the Thanksgiving dinner table we were all saying what we were thankful for and each of the members of the family said her name, then my wife told me to write this note to you just to relay our thanks. Austin (my 4 year old): He said he was thankful for the new house because it had more room, and was thankful for Sparky who laid on his bed and kept the bad people away. (in our old house someone broke in, she went nuts barking and carrying on scaring the people away.) Devan (my 6 year old): He said that he was thankful for school because it was allot of fun and thankful for Sparky who is always his friend.  (When he is put on time outs the dog sits in the corner with him and cuddles.)
Kim (my wife): said she was thankful for Sparky because she has kept me healthy.  (With all the hunting and training that I have been doing I have dropped 30 pound and now weigh 155 pound and my cholesterol is also down.) Me: I am thankful because she make everybody happy and keeps me moving.  Now all I have to do is learn how to shoot decently.  I am lucky if I shoot 50%, thank God my father usually comes along and takes the bird.  So far this year we have taken 52 birds, mixture of pheasant, grouse, and woodcocks.  We still have allot of time left.  So in summary the entire O. family
thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. Best holiday wishes, The O. family

Kerry, just a few  pictures of our new  pup out  of  Ike and Bonnie   5/8/03.  He's  great..

Kerry,  Major and Scout are awesome. They are doing great. it is amazing how two brothers can be so different. My only complaint is that you sent them here without housebreaking them. oh well - thanks again, Todd

Hope this makes it. Had a good time today hunting. Lots of birds. hope I can make it out again this weekend. B B ND

Hi Kerry,  Just a very short note on this Blacksmith/Goober pup I bought from you. She is a jewel! Other than being a puppy and full of fun and curiosity, she points pigeons by scent and sight points them too. We take a walk almost every day, she seems to have learned the turn whistle and comes when called. A better pup I couldn't have asked for. Energy to spare too. I'm quite pleased so far. Nothing serious at the moment. She also has a long memory. If I've planted a pigeon a few days earlier in a spot she goes and checks it out. Thanks again, Brad M.

Halloween greeters

Hi, Just wanted to let you know that I rec'd your check for the crate return. We are loving Cody. He's so full of energy and has brought out the spunk in our older English Setter. They play all the time. There's snow here and he loves that too. I still look on your website daily to look at the puppies. If you ever need a referral for any of your customers, I would be happy to provide one. I would also buy another dog from you in a heartbeat, but 3 dogs is enough for now.  Thanks again for Cody, he's been a great addition to our family and appears to like living in the house and sleeping on our bed (although he does snore for a little dog). Paula Z.

Kerry...

We are so happy with the pups!  They are spoiled already!  Hope you enjoy the pictures!

I am so pleased with the pup I purchased from you in August, 2001.  She was from Havelock Blacksmith x Havelock Bonnie. I looked on your web site and it looks like you are expecting a litter next week from this same breeding.  I would like to reserve a female.  I am also interested in a male pup but perhaps you can guide me there on a different dam  bred to Havelock Blacksmith.   This pup I have is a great hunter already and has a wonderful personality.  You certainly picked a good one for me.  Thank you for your help.  Jane W.
That sounds good.  Hope I can again get a female with dark eyelids. Sure like that look in "Jordan".  Appreciate your help on that.  She pointed pheasants for us in Oct. when we were in Sydney, MT.  We just didn't believe her at first.  We took her along just to let her see the whole sport and watch.  But she fooled us.  The guns never did bother her at all.  Do you do any training with that?  Also when she came to us she retrieved. Did you teach them to do any retrieving?  We were very impressed.  Thanks again.  I trust your judgment on the male--we'll keep in touch.  Hope the new pups do well.   Jane W.

Attached are some photographs of Maximillian Tomoka. Max will be four in June and is the son of Blacksmith and Blue Panzer.  As you can see Max is big into hunting, even in our yard. When we are not out looking for pheasants, grouse or sharptails he is busy looking for bees, sparrows, chipmunks or anything that moves and challenges his territory. As you can also see, he does rest between his real or imaginary hunts.  In the field Max is GREAT. Very eager and works from morning until sunset, and ready the next mooring for more. We have taken him to field with a number of hunters, including some with retrievers, and always receive accolades and praise for his work ethic and pointing abilities. HE IS GREAT  Max is easy to train and always eager to please. I think his demeanor is in part to breeding and in part to the environment of the kennel environment he was born and raised in. He was a very well adjusted dog.  He is just as good a family dog as he is a hunter. He Loves people as much as he loves hunting.  Thanks for the GREAT dog.  Dave G  St. Cloud, Mn.

What do you have available in males white white and orange.  Hi tailed,  even marked pedigrees.  I have a blacksmith female now. Looks great a nose second to none.  Better than 1/2 sister out of Destinare.
Thanks

I am interested in a black/white or tri-color female out of Blacksmith. We purchased two puppies from you about two years ago and have been very pleased. We run a hunting lodge and will need to be replacing some older dogs in the near future. Please let me know what you have available.    T.R.    ....................         Kansas

Thought we would share some pictures of Cheyanne of Montana.  She is taking it easy with some golden retriever pups.  We sure are enjoying her - Thanks for a great girl!   The Miller's.

Thought you might appreciate another photo of one of your dogs, and finally, a photo of him on point. He's in the new Dunn's catalog three times. Once on a dog bed, once in a back seat dog hammock and once with the backing dummy. He's not shrunk any, still around 80 lbs, but I'll tell you - as he gets older, he just gets sweeter. Hard not to make him a house dog.
